Dear TMS Community,
Tenafly Middle School is a special place – a vibrant, inclusive community where every student is encouraged to grow, achieve, and thrive. Since joining TMS in August 2020 as Vice Principal, I have been continually inspired by our students’ curiosity, our staff’s dedication, and the unwavering support of our families. Prior to coming to Tenafly, I spent ten years as a high school Italian teacher and department chair in Monroe Township. During my time in the classroom, I developed a deep appreciation for the many factors that contribute to student success – building strong relationships with all stakeholders, setting and maintaining high expectations, and fostering a supportive learning environment. I also learned the importance of curating a learning experience that not only challenges students academically but also inspires curiosity, nurtures their strengths, and prepares them for life beyond the classroom.
Middle school is a uniquely transformative time in a young person’s life – filled with rapid growth, exploration, and self-discovery. At TMS, we embrace this stage by creating an environment that is challenging yet supportive, where students are encouraged to take risks, develop resilience, and discover their passions. Our goal is to help every child navigate these years with confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging, so they leave our halls ready for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
As principal, my top priority is to guide our team under a shared vision: ensuring that Tenafly Middle School remains a place where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported. I look forward to working closely with all of you and can promise that Mrs. George, Ms. Paz, and I will work tirelessly to ensure your students have a safe, meaningful, and enriching school experience. Together, we will continue to foster academic growth, social-emotional well-being, and a true sense of belonging for all learners.
