Mrs. Tara B. Miller

I've been a teacher for 25 years! I started teaching at Tenafly Middle School back in 2004. Over the years I've had a number of roles at TMS. I've been a Study Skills teacher, and I've taught language arts on every grade level. This year I'm thrilled that I get to teach both eighth-grade language arts on the 8 Teal Team and sixth-grade Literacy Skills!

Mrs. Miller FUN FACTS:

1. My favorite book is The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince) by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. I've read it in both French and English.

2. In the summer, I am the Camp Mom at a day camp in Rockland County. My job is to take care of the campers and staff who have food allergies and special diets. I also get to make up the ice cream menu and order all of the ice cream for the camp!

3. I once lived in San Diego inside of Petco Park where the Padres play. How is that possible to live inside a baseball stadium? If you don't know, you'll just have to ask me! 

4. My favorite band is the Foo Fighters, and I once met the lead singer, Dave Grohl, backstage at a Foo Fighters concert in Nashville, Tennessee.

5. I have two "Tenafly Tigers" of my own who both go to Mackay. My older son will be in fourth grade this year, and my younger son will be in second grade.

6. I love to make crafts, especially with my kids. My favorite crafting tool is my glue gun! 

7. I am obsessed with word games! My favorite one is Wordle, which I play every day on my iPhone. I also like to make Wordles for my students to solve, so look out for links to those on your Google Classroom. I also play Scrabble and Boggle, and the ap games Kryss and Wordzee! on my iPhone.
